BACOLOD City – A group of teenagers found a man hanging from a Gmelina tree with a bag strap tied around his neck in Hacienda Canaan, Barangay Mabini, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.
Cadiz City police identified the man as the 31-year-old Jessie Marfil Ferrer.
They were still verifying if Ferrer committed suicide.
The teenagers discovered Ferrer’s body around 10 a.m. on Dec. 2, a police report showed.
The teenagers informed Ferrer’s family, who then reported to the police.
Ferrer’s sister Rodelia said his brother went to Bacolod on Nov. 8 to work as a welder. But Ferrer went home before completing his contract.
Rodelia said co-worker Artem Panaguiton told Ferrer that he must finish his contract or he will be killed by their employer./PN
