ILOILO City – A laborer drowned in a flooded rice field in Barangay Tabuc Sur, Panitan, Capiz, a police report showed.
Resident Rey Tumabiene, 25, was taken to the Capiz Doctors’ Hospital in Roxas City where he was pronounced dead.
Tumabiene was walking on the rice field on his way home at around 8:50 p.m. on Wednesday when he accidentally slipped and fell, the police report stated.
Nearby residents who saw the incident rushed him to the hospital in the hope that he would be revived but Tumabiene died upon reaching the medical facility, the report stated further./PN
