BACOLOD City – Two game fowls were recovered in Barangay Bantayan, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental. The fowls were used in illegal cockfighting, police said.
Kabankalan City police received a report from a resident – whom they did not identify – that an illegal cockfighT was occurring in the village on Saturday.
When they arrived at the village, several people – who gathered at the cockpit – hurried to flee.
The police arrested a man, though. He was the 47-year-old resident Neil Britania.
The cockfighting in the village was allegedly organized by Mario Maraña, resident Roger Repe told the police.
Maraña escaped, police said./PN
