BACOLOD City – There will be power interruptions today and tomorrow in some areas that the Central Negros Electric Cooperative (Ceneco) covers.
Ceneco general manager Sulpicio Lagarde Jr. said in a statement that the power interruptions are to “ensure stability of distribution lines to avoid further serious damages that will result to major interruptions.”
On Saturday, Ceneco will relocate power distribution poles due to a road widening project of the Department of Public Works and Highways at Hilangban Feeder 4 (covering areas from Lag-asan relocation site to PNOC-EDC in Bago City, Negros Occidental) and Asdes-Gonzaga Feeder 4 (covering portions of CL Montelibano in Bacolod City).
The power interruption that day will be at 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the following areas and establishments: Lag-asan relocation site, PNOC-EDC, Viva Mineral Water, Buenos Aires Resort, Villa Cresteta Subdivision, Crossing Mining, and Bago City barangays Napoles, Malingin, Ma-ao, Bacong, Binubuhan, Mailum, and Ilijan.
Meanwhile, the power interruption in some portions of CL Montelibano in Bacolod City will start at 8 a.m. and will end at 4 p.m. on the same day.
On Sunday, Ceneco’s relocation of power distribution poles at Panaogao Feeder 2 covering the areas in Bueno Retiro, Silay City, Negros Occidental will result to the 8-a.m.-to-4-p.m. power interruption.
The affected areas and establishments that day are Sta. Theresa Academy, Silay Institute, Equitable Bank, Ice Plant, Sea View Subdivision, Hofilenia Subdivision, Carmela Valley Silay, Sea View, Ceneco Silay Field Office, Barangay Guinhalaran in Silay City, and areas from Panao-gao Substation to McKinley Gomez.
Ceneco advises its member-consumers to turn off any electrical switch during power interruptions.
Member-consumers are also advised to wait for 10 to 15 minutes before switching on all electrical appliances once the power supply resumes.
This is to avoid power surge, Ceneco said./PN
