BACOLOD City – Three persons were arrested in a drug buy-bust operation in PurokUhaw, Barangay 4, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.
The operation that the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Negros Occidental and the Kabankalan City police station staged led to the arrest of the 30-year-old Marylyn Campos and live-in partner Robert Gatilogo, 54, and the 30-year-old Mark Anthony Peñaranda.
According to municipal police chief Superintendent Rhea Santos, Campos was the subject of the operation around 4 p.m. on Thursday along Tayum Street.
Recovered from Campos were 32 sachets of shabu – two of which were buy-bust items – and more than P5,000 cash that PDEA agents believed to be proceeds from selling illegal drugs.
Gatoligo, on the other hand, yielded seven sachets of shabu, a .45-caliber firearm with a magazine loaded with six live bullets, drug paraphernalia, and P16,530 cash.
Peñaranda, meanwhile, yielded a sachet of shabu and P115 cash.
The confiscated shabu from the three suspects has an estimated market value of P40,000, according to Santos.
Campos, Gatilogo and Peñaranda were detained at the Kabankalan City police station lockup facility and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
It was not immediately clear if Gatoligo will be facing charges for violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act./PN
