BACOLOD City –Negros Occidental Provincial Election Supervisor Atty. Jessie Suarez has reminded those interested to run in the upcoming barangay and SangguniangKabataan (SK) elections to submit their Statements of Contribution and Expenditures (SOCE).

Suarez said the candidates – win or lose – must pass their SOCEs to the Commission on Elections (Comelec) right after the polls.

Under Comelec’sResolution No. 9991, the candidates are required to pass their SOCEs not later than five days after the conduct of the elections.

According to Suarez, a good number of candidates in the previous elections have not submitted their SOCEs.

Suarez warned that winning election candidates will be prevented from holding office for failure to comply with the requirement.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government announced that the barangay and SK elections will finally push through this May after it was delayed three times.
