ILOILO City – A house help in Roxas City was accused of stealing her employer’s foreign currency.
Dr. Ma. Consolacion Botin of InzoArnaldo Village reported to the police that she lost Hong Kong and Australian dollars.
The 55-year-old physician believes her house help – the 42-year-old Elizabeth Villasis of Barangay San Juan, Molo, Iloilo City – stole them, a police report showed.
Villasis cannot be reached for comment as of this writing.
Botin placed Hong Kong dollar bills worth between 22,000 to 23,000 and 100 Australian dollars in a bag stuffed in a filing cabinet in her bedroom sometime in December last year, the report stated.
But the doctor discovered these bills were missing at around 11 a.m. on Feb. 14, Valentine’s Day.
Botin told the police she believes Villasis took her foreign currency although she was still collecting evidence against the latter.
The Roxas City police were still investigating the report./PN
