ILOILO City – Two people were found dead in Iloilo and Antique provinces last weekend.
They were Marny Barreta, 32, of Barangay Salong, Balasan, Iloilo and Welfrando Baliminto, 76, of Tibiao, Antique, police reports showed.
Barreta’s body was found in Barangay Camambugan, Balasan at 6:30 a.m. on April 15. It bore multiple stab wounds.
Police were still investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.
A day before, at around 10:51 p.m., Baliminto was found at the river near Calaugan Bridge.
Baliminto, a farmer, was believed to have drowned, police said.
Police learned about Baliminto from the Emergency Response Unit of the local government of Tibiao.
Baliminto was taken to the Pedro L. Gindap Memorial Hospital in Barbaza town where Dr. Helda Mae Panaguiton pronounced him dead.
Police were still looking into the farmer’s death as of this writing./PN
