ILOILO City – Two men staying in Barangay Jereos, La Paz district alleged that their fellow boardinghouse tenant trained a firearm on them.

Joennel Gerson caused them “great fear and anxiety” when the 28-year-old fired his gun, the complainants told the police.

Gerson had a misunderstanding with Rodjie Gonzales, 29, and Francis Aspa, 22, at around 9 p.m. on April 22, a police report showed.

Gerson is a native of Barangay Mahunodhunod, Cuartero, Capiz, the police report stated.

Gonzales and Aspa are from Barangay Nabitasan, La Paz and Barangay Aquino Nobleza East (Poblacion), Janiuay, Iloilo, respectively.

According to the complainants, Gerson grabbed a firearm from his motorcycle, trained the weapon on them and said, “Panaog da! Panaog da!” He then fired the gun twice, they claimed.

It was not stated in the police report if there were any injuries as a result of the incident. The caliber of the firearm used was not stated either.

Gerson cannot be reached for comment as of this writing./PN
