ILOILO — A father and his son were rushed to the hospital after being shot while tending to their fried chicken stall in Barangay Poblacion Centro, Calinog town on Tuesday night, August 25.
Police identified the victims as alias “Elmer,” 54, and his 31-year-old son “Precy,” residents of the town’s Barangay Poblacion Ilaya, who were selling fried chicken when an intoxicated “balut” vendor identified as alias “Ed” from Tapaz, Capiz approached and opened fire without any prior argument.
Elmer sustained a gunshot wound to his left hand that penetrated his abdomen. The same bullet exited and struck Precy in the back.
Both victims were immediately brought to the hospital. Authorities said Elmer was in stable condition while Precy was treated and discharged on the same night.
Investigating officers from the Calinog Municipal Police Station (MPS) recovered a 12-gauge shotgun at the scene.
Calinog MPS officer-in-charge Captain Melvin Mercado said hot pursuit operations wre ongoing to locate the 40-year-old suspect who fled the scene immediately after the incident./PN
