BACOLOD City – A man was killed while another was injured in a shooting incident in Barangay Vito, Sagay City, Negros Occidental, a police report showed.
The fatality was identified as the 52-year-old resident Isabelo Coniendo, the report further stated.
The 54-year-old Ernesto Bagayo, also a resident of the village, sustained a gunshot wound on the right forearm.
It was around 3 a.m. on Sunday when the shooting happened.
Police identified the suspect as the Barangay Bonifacio, Sagay City resident Renato Lomocso, who fled after the shooting and was still at large as of this writing.
According to officers from the Sagay City police station, Coniendo died on the spot due to a gunshot wound on the body.
Bagayo, on the other hand, was rushed to the Vicente Gustilo District Hospital in Escalante City, Negros Occidental where he was currently under treatment.
Police have yet to determine the motive in the shooting./PN
