Debutante raps fashion designer

ILOILO City – The gown she had a fashion designer from Molo district make did not arrive on her 18th birthday.

This prompted student Meryll Jannine Natividad of Barangay Rima-Rizal, City Proper to complain about fashion designer Jestoni Pineda, 29, to the Molo police station.

Aside from her gown, Natividad said Pineda also failed to deliver her brother’s tuxedo as she promised.

Natividad told the police she hired Pineda to make her P7,000 gown for her 18th birthday celebration on May 30.

She first got in touch with Pineda on Feb. 7 and went to the fashion designer’s shop on Timawa Avenue, Molo on March 4 for the latter to take her measurements, said Natividad.

Through text message, Natividad inquired about her gown on May 29. Pineda replied, promising to deliver it on her birthday at the venue of the celebration, a police report showed.

May 30 came but no gown or tuxedo arrived, Natividad told the Molo police on June 1. Police advised Natividad to refer her case to the barangay lupon.

Pineda cannot be reached for comment as of this writing. (Christine Lorraine Gallo, Intern/PN)
