2 shoe smiths supply minors with solvent

BACOLOD City – Plaza guards are now hunting two shoe smiths who allegedly sell solvent to minors at the public plaza.

These two shoe smiths, who are still unidentified, do business at the downtown area, according to the General Services Office (GSO).

The GSO was alerted after a video showing some girls sniffing solvent at the plaza went viral on Facebook.

Plaza guard Junjun Tee said the shoe smiths sell solvent to the minors for P5 or P10.

Tee asserted that they guards are doing their jobs, adding, “Nabantayan na namon sila (minors caught sniffing solvent) ugaling lang kami man ila nabantayan kay dayon nila palagyo kon makita nila kami.”

Once minors are caught, the guards turn them over to the Department of Social Services and Development in Barangay Taculing.

Tee is among the 12 guards assigned at the public plaza. Six of them work during daytime while the other six, during nighttime./PN
