BACOLOD City – Three outgoing members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) took the podium to say goodbye and thank colleagues and the public on Wednesday, the last session of the 2016-2019 SP.
Councilors Caesar Distrito, Em Ang and Sonya Verdeflor, who will be exiting the city council by June 30, thanked their constituents for the opportunity given to them.
Distrito, on his part, said being given such privileged is a feat.
He expressed his gratitude to the people of Bacolod City for giving him an opportunity, not just for one term but for three consecutive terms.
“With that legacy I was able to prove that anybody could become a public official and people will give you their trust because of a better performance,” the councilor stressed.
Distrito, during his last term, was elected as the No. 2 councilor even he came from a poor family in Barangay Singcang.
“Bisan ikaw pigado kag naninguha may tsansa ka bisan sa pang gobyerno. Kon ikaw may kasablagan sa lawas basta ikaw naninguha, nanikusog, nag eskwela kag nagtadlong sang imo pangabuhi, ikaw may tsansa,” Distrito reiterated./PN
