BACOLOD City – He had been hiding from the police for about five years.
The 36-year-old Ronald Barcenilla Mandal was caught on the strength of an arrest warrant around 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, a police report showed.
Mandal faces a murder charge, the report added.
The Regional Trial Court Branch 53 in Bacolod City issued the warrant against him on Nov. 13, 2014.
Mandal was arrested in Barangay Bi-ao, Binalbagan, Negros Occidental.
He was detained in the Binalbagan police station’s custodial facility.
The court recommended no bail bond for his temporary liberty./PN
