SAN JOSE, Antique – Three men landed in jail after retaliating for a friend who got stabbed in Barangay Funda-Dalipe here.
The 21-year-old Tereso Umadhay, 18-year-old Rosenel Espinosa and also 18-year-old Ronniel Espinosa – all residents of Sunrise Subdivision in Barangay Funda-Dalipe – were detained in the lockup cell of this capital town’s police station.
They allegedly mauled and stabbed the 25-year-old Jhune Mark Delosiano of Barangay Badiangan, Patnongon town.
According to the police, the suspects and their 20-year-old friend Rommel Vicente were about to go home from a drinking binge at D’Rock Resto bar on July 2 when a heated argument ensued between Vicente and Delosiano, who was also at the bar.
Vicente and Delosiano initially had a fistfight, then the latter took a knife and stabbed the former on the chest.
The Espinosas and Umadhay chased and beat Delosiano while Vicente was brought to the Angel Salazar Memorial General Hospital for treatment, the police report said.
Delosiano was later found by a security guard of an establishment located along Emigdio Nietes Avenue in Barangay Funda-Dalipe.
He was lying on a bench drenched in blood when found around 2 a.m. on July 2.
San Jose Emergency Medical Services responders brought Delosiano – who sustained at least 20 stab wounds on the different parts of the body – to the Angel Salazar Memorial General Hospital.
Officers of the San Jose police station, meanwhile, arrested the Espinosas and Umadhay at around 4:45 a.m.
