MANILA – Bacolod Tay Tung High School Thunderbolts aims for a strong showing when it competes in the Batang Pinoy National Finals 2019 from Aug. 23 to Sept. 1 in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.
Pontevedra, Negros Occidental big man Heinz Gabriel “Kobe” Demisana is expected to spearhead the squad. He got valuable experience in his recent stint in the Jr. NBA Global Championship in Orlando, Florida.
“Hopefully I can use the experience I gained from Jr. NBA in Batang Pinoy,” Demisana said. “I know this will not be easy but we will try our best to win each game.”
Aside from Demisana, also part of the team to be mentored by Dexter Dy are Nathan Jan Jundana, Rafael Albert Ledesma, Mike Lebron Estelloso, Christian James Juguan, and Thomas Pillado.
Completing the Thunderbolts team were Adrielle
Vince Binguan, Johanan Raymond Castiller, Dylan Benedict Despi, Marvin delos
Santos, and Joshua Farahmir Dignadice.
The Thunderbolts took the championship in the
boys basketball event of the Batang Pinoy 2019 Visayas Qualifier leg after a
73-70 win over Cebu province in March in Iloilo City./PN
