BACOLOD City – Councilor Wilson Gamboa Jr. urged Eduardo Ravena to step down as director of the Bacolod City Water District (Baciwa).
“Ravena should leave Baciwa,” he stressed.
Gamboa cited the decision of Ombudsman Samuel Martires on March 1. Ravena was found guilty of grave misconduct and meted the penalty of dismissal from service with cancellation of eligibility, forfeiture of retirement benefits, and perpetual disqualification from holding public office.
The case stemmed from the procurement of P858,872 worth of fuel for the Bacolod City Government Center. Ravena was formerly the city’s accountant.
“Ravena should no longer be in Baciwa. He should leave out of delicadeza,” said Gamboa.
The Amlig Tubig – an alliance of concerned consumers from different sectors in this city – was planning to write the Civil Service Commission and Local Water Utilities Administrator to clarify Ravena’s presence in the Baciwa board.
The complaint for conduct prejudicial to the best interest of service against Ravena and City Engineer Belly Aguillon was also dismissed for lack of substantial evidence.
