BACOLOD City – Charged with homicide, a farmer was arrested in Barangay Tabao Rizal, San Enrique, Negros Occidental.
The suspect was identified as 40-year-old Ruben Valles of Barangay La Granja, La Carlota City, Negros Occidental, a police report showed.
Valles – who had been hiding from the police for about 17 years – was caught on the strength of an arrest warrant around 11:20 a.m. on Monday, it added.
Police officers served the warrant issued by Judge Reynaldo Alon of the Regional Trial Court Branch 63 in La Carlota City dated Aug. 2, 2002.
Valles was detained in the La Carlota City police station’s custodial facility.
The court recommended a bail bond worth P40,000 for his temporary liberty./PN
