ILOILO City – For owning an unlicensed firearm, a man was arrested in Barangay Janipaan Oeste, Cabatuan, Iloilo.
The 38-year-old resident Ricky Pineda, a former security guard, was caught after the police raided his house on the strength of a search warrant around 9 a.m. on Wednesday.
The warrant was issued by Judge Gemalyn Tarol of the Regional Trial Court Branch 31 in this city.
Recovered from Oeste was a .45-caliber pistol with live bullets, police said.
Oeste was detained in the lockup cell of the Cabatuan municipal police station.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act will be filed against him./PN
