IT was a night steeped in pomp and pageantry as Sea Garden Resort in Coastal Highway, Leganes, Iloilo celebrated Oktoberfest by holding its first ever Macho Gay Pageant on Oct. 12, with ten candidates from various barangays vying for the crown.
Elegant and statuesque Christian Baldonasa representing Barangay Bigke was crowned Sea Garden Resort Macho Gay 2019, he received P10,000 in cash prize, trophy and gift certificates courtesy of Sea Garden Resort and all the sponsors. Baldonasa bested the other candidates in the Talent, Gown and Swim Wear portions of the competition.
Dazzling and stylish Allain John Ituriaga of Barangay Guintas emerged as First Runner Up, bagging P7,000 in cash prize, trophy and gift certificates. He outperformed the rest in his production number and took the Miss SMB (San Miguel Brewery) Flavored Beer Award.
Graceful and charming Joemel Alibogha of Cagamutan Sur won Second Runner Up bringing home P5,000 in cash prize, trophy and gift certificates. He also proved his wit and scored the highest in the Question and Answer portion.
For the special awards, sophisticated and gorgeous Mark Rovic Somo of Barangay Poblacion won Miss Popularity, Miss Photogenic and Best in Festival Costume awards and he likewise garnered cash prizes and gift certificates.
Demure and amiable John Mark Pamillaran of Barangay Camangay was voted Miss Friendship and was awarded cash prize and gift certificates.
Stunning and classy Aris Jhon Bandiez of Barangay Napnud was awarded Miss Fasclean award and received generous gift packs from Valiant (Iloilo) Incorporated.
The momentous event was made possible with the full support of all the barangays represented by the different candidates, as well as the Municipality of Leganes Office of the Mayor Vicente Jaen II and Leganes Tourism Office headed by Jerry Anas.
The major sponsors of the competition were the following: San Miguel Brewery (SMB), Inc. represented by SMB Logistics Jingle Dolar and SMB Dealer Lala Escano. The minor sponsors were: Cathy Silva of Sanitary Care Products Asia, Inc; Recto Jose Isada of Water Quest Refill Station and Peter Chang of Eagle Line Fuel.
The distinguished panel of judges was headed by the president of Sea Garden Resort Atty. Rosalind Tapales-Jardeleza; the respected couturier and wedding planner Jan-Jan Tang; well-known businessman and event stylist Makio Khutti; multi-awarded pageant title holder and Miss Sea Garden Biray Paraw 2019 Danessa Gonzales; and pageant enthusiast and highly talented Mr. Guimaras 2019 Rolen Kim Gabayoyo.
The special guest performer for the competition was a daily winner from “It’s Showtime’s” Tawag Ng Tanghalan Gevie Belarmino.
Pageant emcee Chollin Tulones-Pudadera, Program Committee headed by Christy Gustilo and the ever supportive management and staff of Sea Garden Resort.
