
SAN JOSE, Antique – The provincial government here allotted a P1-million financial assistance to the earthquake victims in North Cotabato.
The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) here on Monday approved the allocation – which will be taken from the PDRRM fund.
PDRRM officer Broderick Train said the Makilala town in North Cotabato suffered a lot due to the 5.6-magnitude earthquake last July 9 and the 6.3 tremor on Oct. 16 – which affected the livelihood of the residents.
“Although the earthquake was also felt in other parts of Mindanao but North Cotabato was the hardest hit province,” Train added, saying the resolution will be forwarded to the provincial board for approval on their regular session tomorrow.
Once approved, the provincial government of North Cotabato could receive the donation.(With a report from PNA/PN)
