ILOILO City – Central Philippine University Golden Lions gained an outright entry to the championship round of the 2019 ILOPRISAA Meet tertiary men’s basketball.
The Golden Lions swept their four-game eliminations to earn a twice-to-beat incentive in the finals against the No. 2 seed team at the end of the eliminations.
The Golden Lions notched its fourth victory with an 84-80 escape over the University of San Agustin with center Jesse Sullano leading the way with 21 points and Miguel Sasuman adding 20 markers.
Prior to that, CPU improved to 3-0 on Friday evening after a 76-57 rout of Iloilo Doctors’ College with Sasuman finishing with 19 points and Rey Tupas contributing 10 markers.
Western Institute of Technology registered its second victory in three matches on Friday after a 75-59 rout of defending champions John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University.
In women’s match, Western Institute of Technology entered the finals unbeaten after an 87-64 win over University of San Agustin. The two teams will meet again in the finals./PN
