Bacolod City – Jealousy apparently drove a woman to kill her husband’s supposed mistress in Barangay Balintawak, Escalante City, Negros Occidental.
The 40-year-old Mary Ann Cristal of Barangay Washington, Escalante City stabbed to death Josephine Lucero of Barangay Mabini, Escalante City, a police report showed.
Lucero sustained fatal stab wounds on the body. She was rushed to the Dr. Vicente Gustilo Memorial District Hospital in Escalante City where the attending physician declared her “dead on arrival.”
Police investigations showed the incident happened around 12:10 p.m. on Dec. 28.
Cristal reportedly accused his husband – whose name was not mentioned on the report – of having an affair with Lucero.
The suspect voluntarily surrendered to the Escalante City police. She was now detained and charged./PN
