ILOILO – A Grade 9 female student was found hanging dead from the ceiling of their house in Barangay Supa, Tigbauan town on June 9 at around 4 p.m.
Did she kill herself or was she murdered?
The Tigbauan police is continuing its investigation although its initial finding characterized the death as suicide. The girl’s family believed she was killed.
According to Tigbauan police station chief Police Major Rolando Araño, probers found a suicide note in the girl’s room. It stated: “Malinong pa ang kalibutan kung wala ako.”
The father, is however not convinced. He said his daughter had no reason to end her life.
The family also pointed to bloodstains on the wall and on the feet of the girl.
Araño said there was no evidence or witness yet that wound bolster the suspicion that someone murdered the girl and made it appear she committed suicide.
The autopsy conducted by Dr. Owen Libaquin showed no indication of foul play. There were no signs of struggle found.
The autopsy, however, found a laceration on the girl’s genitalia, a possible indication of an unconsummated rape attempt.
The girl was a student at Guimbal National High School. No family member was around when she died./PN
