ILOILO City – Is it safe to dine in at restaurants? Yes, of course, according to the Iloilo Hotel Restaurants & Resorts Association (IHRRA).
IHRRA together with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in Region 6 and Department of Health (DOH) in Region 6 has assured that costumers need not to worry about dine-in services in fast food chains and restaurants in the metro.
Mary Ann Darroca-Matiling, corporate secretary of IHRRA and owner of Cafe Gloria by Villa Darroca in Villa, Arevalo district, said that health protocols are all now in place.
IHRRA with DTI and DOT recently conducted a consultative meeting in rolling out protocols and safety measures to protect customers and employees.
Matiling said that since June 1 when Iloilo City was placed under modified general community quarantine, restaurants especially, the 70 members of the IHRRA, reopened for dine-in services.
During the meeting, the group decided to come up uniform protocols.
These guidelines were the following:
* Requiring dine-in customers to fill-up health declaration card
* Checking body temperature using thermal scanner
* Wearing of facemask before entering
* Regular sanitation of high contact areas and surfaces
“You just need have to follow all the protocols and implement these. The consumers when they go out, they know that they are safe because we have set protocol together with DTI and DOT,” Matiling said.
Iloilo City is currently under an extended modified general community quarantine.
