BACOLOD City – Two drug suspects were arrested in a separate buy-bust operations in Silay City, Negros Occidental.
The 24-year-old Ryan Esconde was arrested in Barangay 5 around 2 a.m. on Sept. 7, a police report showed.
Esconde yielded six sachets of suspected shabu, P20,400 marked money and drug paraphernalia, it added.
However, his alleged cohort Joemarie Merabe, who was tagged as a “high-value” drug target, managed to escape. Police was able to impound Merabe’s motorcycle.
Later that morning, 25-year-old Rey Luage was nabbed in Barangay Punao, Silay City.
When frisked, Luage – resident of Greenville Bato in Barangay Rizal – yielded a sachet of suspected shabu, police said.
Esconde and Luage were detained in the lockup facility of the Silay City police station.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the suspects./PN
