BACOLOD City – A laborer was shot to death by three unidentified gunmen in the hinterland barangay of Biao, Binalbagan, Negros Occidental.
Police Major Fernando Somblingo Jr., Binalbagan police chief, identified the victim as Blas Urbano Jr., 47, of Sitio Apitong Uno in Barangay Biao.
Urbano sustained gunshot wounds on the head and body. He was rushed to the Binalbagan Rural Health Unit where the attending physician declared him “dead on arrival.”
According to police investigation, the shooting happened around 8 a.m. on Oct. 26.
Urbano was on his way to a cousin’s house when he was shot by the suspects who were hiding in a sugar cane field.
Recovered from the crime shine were two empty shells of a .45-caliber gun.
Policemen of Binalbagan were still trying to identify as of this writing who may have fired at the victim.
They have yet to establish the motive as well./PN
