ILOILO City – Suspected shabu estimated to be worth P400,000 was seized in a buy-bust operation over the weekend in Barangay Zamora-Melliza, City Proper.
Operatives of the Police Regional Office 6’s Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU) staged the entrapment operation that led to the arrest of Justine Barcebas, 26, and Dan Jester Sespeñe, 28, both residents of the village.
The suspects did not know they were being subjected to an entrapment by the RDEU on Saturday. An undercover police officer transacted from him P20,500 worth of shabu.
They were placed under surveillance for over a week prior to the buy-bust.
The suspects – detained in the lockup cell of Police Station 1 – face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
