BACOLOD City – Fourteen persons were arrested for illegal cockfighting in two separate operations in Bago City, Negros Occidental.
In Barangay Bagroy, police apprehended four suspects around 9:10 a.m. on April 4. An hour later, 10 individuals were caught in Barangay Atipulan, a police report showed.
Police recovered five gaming fowls, four gaffs and P4,870 bet money from the suspects’ possession.
They were detained in the lockup facility of the Bago City police station, facing charges for violation of Presidential Decree 449, or the Cockfighting Law of 1974./PN
