BACOLOD City – Negros Occidental’s Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson is set to be vaccinated against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on Friday together with several local officials.
Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said three local chief executives (LCEs) and four provincial board members will be inoculated at the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City – mayors Manuel Escalante of Manapla, Ernesto Estrao of Hinoba-an and Jose Nadie Arceo of Hinigaran, and Provincial Board members Samson Mirhan, Araceli Somosa, Victor Javellana, and Sixto Guanzon.
Diaz said the LCEs will be vaccinated with the China-made CoronaVac vaccines while Provincial Board members will be inoculated with AstraZeneca shots.
Other mayors in the province have also signified their willingness to be vaccinated.
Diaz said that some capitol department heads are willing to be vaccinated, too: Provincial Veterinary Head Dr. Renante Decena, Provincial Agriculture Officer Atty. Japhet Masculino, Dr. Narissa Lemoncito of the Philippine Rural Development Project; and Jun Caberoy of the Bids and Awards Committee./PN
