ILOILO – Of the province’s 6,038 cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) as of April 27, 5,437 – or around 90 percent – have recovered, data from the Provincial Health Office (PHO) showed.
With 164 deaths (three percent), data showed the province with 437 active cases left.
Between April 1 and 27, the province logged 590 new cases – or an average of 22 daily cases.
The five local government units (LGUs) with the highest cumulative cases were Passi City (703), Oton (483), Pavia (409), Miag-ao (255), and San Joaquin (232).
Those with highest active COVID cases were Calinog (100), Miag-ao (26), Oton (21), Passi City (20), and Guimbal (20).
Meanwhile, the towns of Barotac Viejo, Dueñas, Carles, and Mina recorded zero active cases.
PHO records further revealed that majority of the cases were local transmissions – 4,996. It was followed by locally stranded individuals (704); returning overseas Filipinos (264); and authorized person outside residence (74).
