ILOILO – A family caught with alleged fake reverse transcription- polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test results is under investigation.
According to Santa Barbara, Iloilo municipal administrator Leo Superio, the family returned from Cebu on April 24.
The parents and children, two other minors and the family driver made port in Estancia town where local authorities checked their documents.
A RT-PCR document was found lacking of quick response (QR) code.
Authorities informed the provincial capitol, which in turn contacted the local government unit (LGU) of Santa Barbara.
“Gintawgan kami nga puede sugaton ang magpamilya kay indi nila pag-release kon indi LGU ang masugat,” Superio told Panay News.
The LGU made verifications with the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu. The hospital said it had no record issuing the questioned test result.
Local officials are currently investigating whether this was deliberate or if the family was victimized by a scam.
If investigations find them guilty, the family could face charges for falsification of documents. The family was placed in strict quarantine pending the result of the investigation./PN
