SAN JOSE, Antique – On July 28 Antique recorded its highest (so far) single day cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) – 110.
According to the Provincial Health Office (PHO), these new cases were in the following towns: Tibiao – 20; Belison – 18; Culasi – 18; Sibalom – 14; San Remigio – 12; Bugasong – eight; San Jose – six; Valderrama – six; Hamtic – three; Libertad – two; Anini-y – one; Barbaza – one; and Patnongon – one.
Antique also recorded six more COVID-19-related deaths. Five were from San Jose (86-year-old male; 54-year-old female; 60-year-old male; 89-year-old female; 86-year-old female) and one was from Caluya (47-year-old male).
As of July 28, Antique had 640 active COVID-19 cases, 2,458 cases that recovered and 148 cases that died.
The active cases were in San Jose (179), Tibiao (64), Sibalom (60), Belison (58), Culasi (45), Hamtic (47), Bugasong (38), San Remigio (31), Laua-an (25), Anini-y (21), Pandan (20), Tobias Fornier (16), Valderrama (11), Sebaste (nine), Caluya (eight), Libertad (six), Barbaza (four), and Patnongon (four).
“Ini-expect na namin na tataas ang cases namin kasi gumagawa kami ng contact tracing at ang local government units nagsasagawa ng swabbing sa kanilang mga constituents na makikitaan ng symptoms,” said Gov. Rhodora Cadiao.
Antique is under general community quarantine (GCQ) with heightened restrictions such as the following:
* minimum public health standards shall be observed at all times
* movement of all persons shall be limited; those persons below 18 and above 65 years old, with comorbidities, and pregnant women are required to stay in their residences at all times except for obtaining essential goods and services
* entertainment venues, cockfighting, lottery and other gaming establishments are prohibited
* gatherings outside residences are prohibited, while religious gatherings shall be allowed up to 30 percent of the venue’s capacity
* only accommodation establishments with Department of Tourism accreditation shall be allowed to operate
* all construction projects shall be allowed but subject to the guidelines issued by the Department of Public Works and Highways
* curfew is from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.
* liquor ban is lifted; however, drinking in public places and during curfew hours are strictly prohibited
* travelers / locally stranded individuals coming in to Antique from outside Region 6 must have negative COVID-19 test result (reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction), Notice of Coordination from local government unit of destination, and an approved S-Pass./PN
