ILOILO City – Seven persons were arrested in Barangay Agdao, Tubungan, Iloilo.
Police chanced upon them playing mahjong and tong-its around 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 5.
Bet money amounting to P589 and other gambling paraphernalia were recovered , a police report showed.
The following suspects were detained at the Tubungan police station: Isabelo Tabilleron, 54; Mauro Taburan, 52; Margarito Genteroles, 63; Marcial Mogote, 59; Felix Tanutan, 50; and Nolan Malba, 37 (all of Barangay Adgao); and Jose Ngitngit, 57, of Barangay Ingay.
Charges for violation of Presidential Decree 1602 which prescribes stiffer penalties on illegal gambling, would be filed against them./PN
