ILOILO City – Police arrested a 45-year-old woman in Barangay Santo Niño Sur, Arevalo district on Monday.
Jocelyn Parreño, a resident of the village, was caught collecting bets for the illegal numbers game bookies, a police report showed.
The suspect was taken to the Arevalo police station around 11:15 a.m.
Gambling paraphernalia and P115 bet money were recovered, police added.
The suspect faces charges for violation of Republic Act 9287 which increases penalties for illegal numbers games, amending certain provisions of Presidential Decree 1602./PN
