ILOILO City – Another gun ban violator was arrested on Wednesday night in Barangay Apologista, Sara, Iloilo.
Resident Rexmar Batoleño, 33, was detained at the municipal police station.
Police caught him carrying a 12-gauge shotgun around 10 p.m.
The suspect admitted his gun had no permit.
He would be charged with violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, and for defying the pre-elections gun ban.
He was the second person to be arrested for such violation.
Jesus Laresma, 30, of Barangay Punao, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental was arrested on Oct. 5 in Barangay 4, San Carlos City.
He failed to show his license and permit to carry his .38-caliber revolver.
A gun ban was ordered by the Philippine National Police to ensure a safe filing of certificates of candidacy which will end today./PN
