ILOILO – Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. may request for a lower coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) quarantine level for this province if cases continue to drop.
“Panaligan ta…we can petition, we can appeal to the IATF (Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases) para mapahalog ta naman ang iban nga industriya nga nabilin pa,” said Defensor.
The province is under a modified enhanced community quarantine until Oct. 15.
Based on the executive order earlier issued by the governor, establishments allowed to operate during MECQ are the following:
* food preparation establishments such as kiosks, commissaries, restaurants, and eateries, provided they may resume their indoor dine-in services at an initial venue or seating capacity of 10 percent; outdoor dine-in services (al fresco dining) at 50 percent venue or seating capacity
* beauty salons, beauty parlors, barbershops, and nail spas may resume operations at an initial venue or seating capacity of 30 percent
* extended hotel and accommodation establishments operations
The following establishments, persons, or activities shall not be permitted to operate, work, or be undertaken:
* entertainment venues with live performers such as karaoke bars, bars, clubs, concert halls, theaters, and cinemas
* recreational venues such as internet cafes, billiard halls, amusement arcades, bowling alleys, and similar venues
* amusement parks or theme parks, fairs/peryas, kid amusement industries such as playgrounds, playroom, and kiddie rides
* outdoor tourist attractions, including recreation activities in public beaches, inland waters and other tourist spots
* indoor sports courts or venues, fitness studios, gyms, spas or other indoor leisure centers or facilities and swimming pools
* venues for meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions
* personal care services which include medical aesthetic clinics, cosmetic or derma clinics, make-up salons, reflexology, aesthetics, wellness, and holistic centers, and other similar establishments, acupuncture and electrocautery establishments, and massage therapy including sports therapy establishments; establishments providing tanning services, body piercings, tattooing, and similar services; home service for the above activities is likewise not permitted
As of Oct. 9, there were 33,373 total confirmed cases in the province, of which 3,858 were active, 28,668 recovered and 847 deaths.
The daily average in cases was 100, lower compared to September’s 262 and August’s 233.
Based on data from the Department of Health (DOH) in Region 6, the two-week growth rate of the province as of Oct. 9 was at negative 44, lower compared to the previous two weeks of negative 30.95.
Iloilo’s average daily attack rate (ADAR) also decreased to only 6.57 percent, from the last two weeks’ 11.76.
