ANINI-Y, Antique – The Department of Health (DOH) in Region 6 turned over a P13-million polyclinic to the local government unit here on Nov. 5.
It is the first polyclinic in Antique.
Aside from consultations, the clinic would also offer ultrasound, counseling and x-ray services, among others.
Mayor Maxfil Pollicar said residents of Anini-y need not anymore travel to nearby Dao town or to San Jose where the Angel Salazar Memorial General Hospital is located to avail themselves of basic medical services.
Already, there are plans to further develop the polyclinic into a district hospital.
DOH allotted P10 million for the construction of the polyclinic. The provincial government had a P3-million counterpart./PN
