ANTIQUE – A 49-year-old woman was hacked dead in Barangay Lumpatan, San Remigio town.
Dorie Piano Cabrillos was found by her daughter with fatal wounds to her neck and at the back of her head around 7:30 a.m. yesterday.
The hacking may have been carried out between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m., said San Remigio Municipal Police Station (MPS) investigator, Police Staff Sergeant Shawn Ardenia, in an exclusive interview with Radyo Bandera Antique.
Suspect Grande Cabrillos, 40, a distant relative of the victim, was arrested at 9:30 a.m. He was seen wearing a sweatshirt with blood stains, added Ardenia.
The San Remigio MPS is eyeing robbery and rape as motives.
A piggy bank and coins were seen scattered in Dorie’s room. A cell phone allegedly left in a hurry was also found. The victim’s shorts were also torn and pulled down.
More than 20 years ago, Grande allegedly killed his pregnant wife, although the victim’s family did not file charges, according to Ardenia.
