ILOILO City – A member of the Iloilo City Anti-Smoking Task Force (ICAST) was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation in Zone 7, Barangay San Isidro, Jaro district around 3:30 a.m. yesterday.
Stewart Macatual, a 38-year-old tattooist, was a resident of Barangay Rizal, Lapuz district. He was a high-value drug suspect, police said.
Macatual sold a sachet of suspected shabu for P15,000 to a police poseur buyer.
Police recovered a total of seven sachets of suspected shabu weighing 17 grams and valued at around P115,600.
Police Captain Lester Oliveros, officer-in-charge of the Iloilo City Police Station 2 (Jaro), said Macatual was placed under surveillance for nearly a month before the operation.
The suspect is now in the custody of the Jaro police station and will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
