ILOILO City – Two notorious theft suspects were arrested for suspected shabu.
Aldy Olivar, 44, was a resident of Barangay Rizal Estanzuela, City Proper while Roland Defensor, 42, was from Zone 2, Barangay Tanza Timawa, City Proper.
The antidrug operation was carried out by the Station Drug Enforcement Team of the Iloilo City Police Station (ICPS) 1 in Zone 2, Barangay Rizal Estanzuela around 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11.
A police poseur buyer bought a sachet of suspected shabu from the suspects for P1,500.
Police seized a total of four sachets of suspected shabu valued at P6,800, and assorted IDs, ATM cards and passports that may have belonged to their victims.
Police Captain Peter John Ramos, officer-in-charge of the ICPS-1, told Panay News the suspects were involved in several theft cases in the city.
Ramos added Olivar served jail time for frustrated homicide in 1997 and was released in 2010, while Defensor was caught in a buy-bust operation in 2016 and was released in 2022.
The suspects were detained at the ICPS-1, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
