ILOILO City – A drug pushing suspect was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Progreso, Lapuz district.
Donnel Vasquez, 35, of Barangay Bakhaw, Mandurriao district, worked as an agent for liquefied petroleum products.
He sold a large sachet of suspected shabu to a police poseur buyer for P18,000.
A total of five sachets of suspected shabu weighing more or less 30 grams and with a standard drug price of P204,000 were recovered.
A .9mm revolver with five live rounds, a digital weighing scale, an Android cellphone, an improvised tooter, a pair of scissors and empty plastic sachets were also found.
The operation was conducted by the joint forces of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) and Iloilo City Police Station 2 (La Paz police) at about 11:05 p.m. on Thursday, May 25.
CDEU chief Police Lieutenant Colonel Antonio Benitez Jr., in radio interviews, said they have been monitoring the suspect for two weeks.
Vasquez got his supply from Barangay Desamparados in Jaro district and was moving from one place to another, Benitez added.
Vasquez was taken to the La Paz police station. Charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, would be filed against him./PN
