KALIBO, Aklan – A four-year-old girl was rescued in Makato, Aklan.
Neighbors found the girl inside a sack on a grassy area of Barangay Cajilo on Saturday afternoon, Aug. 26. She was crying for help.
The girl sustained injuries and was taken to a local hospital.
“May injury ang bata sa bibig at may tali ng medyas sa leeg nang makita sa loob ng sako,” said Captain Abdon De Mateo, Makato acting police chief.
He added the suspect was the victim’s minor cousin and had a pending theft case in their barangay.
The 15-year-old is said to come from a broken family and is presently staying with his grandmother.
He fled to the adjacent barangay of Mantiguib, Makato, but surrendered to local authorities the next day.
“Nagalit siya, nakulitan sa bata,” De Mateo said.
He was turned over to the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office./PN
