ROXAS City – The police station of Mambusao, Capiz confirmed having identified several persons of interest in a fatal shooting that occurred on Nov. 13 in the town’s Barangay Najus-an.
However, Police Captain Alladen Talaban, police chief of Mambusao, declined to identify these persons to protect the integrity of the ongoing investigation.
The victim, identified only by the alias “Lanong”, was a legal-aged resident of Barangay Najus-an. He was shot after a drinking binge with two acquaintances.
According to witnesses, Lanong was shot by an unidentified assailant while at a waiting shed, resulting in a fatal wound.
The sound of a gunshot was heard following the passing of a motorcycle, which was suspected to be connected to the assailant.
The victim suffered severe side injuries and was quickly attended to by the Mambusao Emergency Response Unit.
However, despite being rushed to the Mambusao District Hospital and receiving immediate medical attention, Lanong was pronounced dead shortly after arrival./PN
