AKLAN – A 62-year-old woman died after her motorcycle was rammed by a 10-wheeler truck in Barangay Linayasan, Altavas town around 7:55 a.m. on Saturday, August 17.
Diosebel Dalayday, a resident of Barangay Poblacion, Makato town, sustained fatal body injuries. She was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician at the Altavas District Hospital.
Altavas police identified the truck driver as Larico Fajemos Jr., 45, and a resident of Barangay Santo Angel, Dumalag, Capiz.
He was detained at the Altavas Municipal Police Station (MPS), facing charges for reckless imprudence resulting to homicide.
According to the investigation of the Altavas MPS, Fajemos attempted to overtake a motorcycle ahead of him and he failed to notice the approaching motorcyclist, Dalayday, who was heading towards Kalibo town.
Police said the truck tried to return to its lane, however it already hit the victim./PN
