ANTIQUE – A 23 year-old man drowned in a river in Barangay San Juan, Sibalom town around 10 p.m. on Wednesday, August 21.
The victim was identified as Christian Lloyd Navarro, a resident of the town’s Barangay Salvacion.
According to the investigation of the Sibalom Municipal Police Station, the victim went near the river on Wednesday night to catch spiders.
When he later crossed the river on his way home, he was swept away by the strong water current.
Nearby residents and rescuers tried to help the victim and rushed him to Ramon Maza Sr. Memorial District Hospital but he was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician, Sibalom police added./PN
