CAPIZ – All 16 municipalities of this province and its capital, Roxas City, are showcasing their respective cultural and tourism offerings at the four-day Regional Travel Fair.
Spearheaded by the Department of Tourism’s (DOT) marketing arm, Tourism Promotions Board, the 14th Regional Travel Fair (RTF) kicked off in Roxas City yesterday, October 18, and will run until October 20.
The travel fair aims to highlights the rich heritage and vibrant tourism of Western Visayas, particularly the cultural and tourism assets of Capiz.
TPB Chief Operating Officer Maria Margarita Montemayor Nograles said by bringing the Regional Travel Fair to Roxas City they expect tourism stakeholders to showcase the beauty of Capiz and its neighboring provinces.
During yesterday’s opening, a Business-to-Business (B2B) session was held at Circulo Convention Center. Present were local officials and key personalities from hotels, and tour operators.
From October 19 to 20, the Regional Travel Fair will open to the public through a Business-to-Consumer (B2C) Fair at Robinsons Roxas and unlock fantastic discounts on tour travel packages, airline tickets, accommodations, and local delicacies.
Prior to this, the TPB, in collaboration with the DOT and the Provincial Government of Capiz, under the leadership of Gov. Fredenil H. Castro, and through the Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs (PTCAO), also held the much-anticipated Capiztahan Night as part of the travel fair.
The event took place on Thursday night, October 17, at the Villareal Stadium were Capiz’s local government units showcased their unique charms through local delicacies and handcrafted products.
The event also featured traditional performances such as folk dances, rondalla music, musical performances, a seafood feast that emphasized the province’s abundant marine resources, and visitors donning traditional costumes./PN
