BACOLOD City – A tragic incident claimed the life of a seven-month-old baby boy after he fell into a water-filled container at Purok Medalla Milagrosa in Barangay Sum-ag here early Monday morning, October 21.
Captain Lanie Deriada, chief of the Bacolod City Police Station 9, reported that the container, placed near the foot of the family’s bed, had gone unnoticed as the infant crawled and fell headfirst into it. The container was filled halfway with water and was commonly used for bathing the baby.
The family had returned home late from attending MassKara Festival celebration. Exhausted, they went straight to bed, unaware of the infant’s movements during the night, Deriada said.
She added that the father found the child unresponsive in the container and was already turning pale when discovered./PN
