Gov’t worker yields ‘shabu’, gun in Guimaras

GUIMARAS – Approximately P35,000 worth of suspected shabu and a firearm were recovered from a government employee in a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Mclain, Buenavista in this province.

The 44-year-old alias “Jr” was collared around 6:46 p.m. on Monday, October 28.

Operatives of the Guimaras Police Provincial Office’s Drug Enforcement Unit and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency – Guimaras confiscated several plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing around five grams, P500 in buy-bust money, caliber .38 revolver with five rounds of live ammunition, and small knife.

The suspect was detained. He faces charges for violation of Sections 5, 11 and 12 of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
